Sushi Night

Some pictures of our first time trying sushi.
Matt did a great job at introducing us to a new food.
I would definitely eat it again. (although the Wasabi was a little much!)
Note: We are looking for someone to provide chopstick training. It was brutal.

Pumpkin Stew!

I found a recipe for pumpkin stew in my favorite brand of cookbooks, The Gooseberry Patch.
I used some of the bear meat that my dad had given us to make the stew, and it turned out really well! You should check out his blog: www.bowhuntingroad.com
Heather and I hollowed out the pumpkin and then we put the stew into the pumpkin and baked it for an hour. Yum!

Diversity

We have had an interesting week of food:
Thursday we had a Peruvian dish called papa a la huancaina.
Friday we cooked hotdogs and beans over a campfire.
Saturday we went to a Japanese Hibachi
grill with friends and family.
Sunday we spent the afternoon eating Indian food with Pradeep and Priyanka.
Monday we had leftovers.
Tuesday we made sushi with Matt.
Wednesday we had chili.

What a buffet!

On the road

Cooped Up

When Grandpa and Loretta were around we took a trip to visit Ben and Melissa on their farm. It happend that we visited right in the middle of a major project, something for which Grandpa was very excited.
Ben and Melissa have recently begun raising chickens and are putting together quite the farm! Ben is the only one I know who uses advanced trigonometry in building a chicken coop.

Cookout!

We had some friends over and grilled earlier this month. I don’t claim to be a master, but I can poke a stick through a vegetable and piece of meat with the best of them.

Adam had the responsibility of making sure none of the artwork perished upon the flame.
