Nine men took off for Brule lake on Sunday evening after church. Our theme for this man-a-thon was \u201cTrue Men Accept Responsibility.\u201d<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-qoyMum1K2-k\/T9PNwg6VqfI\/AAAAAAAAErY\/gVSJCHnbwh0\/s1600\/IMG_0230.JPG\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-qoyMum1K2-k\/T9PNwg6VqfI\/AAAAAAAAErY\/gVSJCHnbwh0\/s320\/IMG_0230.JPG?resize=320%2C240\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>Because the limit is nine people for each permit, and no more than 4 canoes to each group, we filled it to capacity. The tricky part was figuring out how to get all the canoes, gear, and guys up there in one piece! I googled \u201cfour canoes on a van\u201d but had no relevant hits. I suppose we were heading into uncharted waters. Here is option A.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Steve S., our guide, did all the hard work with figuring out how to get us up there and to the right destination. We eventually settled on option C for the canoes.<\/div>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-CWt81BQa0-o\/T9PN09oxfVI\/AAAAAAAAErg\/oQ-gcKtUZoY\/s1600\/IMG_0235.JPG\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/-CWt81BQa0-o\/T9PN09oxfVI\/AAAAAAAAErg\/oQ-gcKtUZoY\/s320\/IMG_0235.JPG?resize=320%2C240\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>We were graciously allowed to use the cabin of a friend up in Lutsen to spend the night, so we didn\u2019t have to throw down our sleeping bags in a parking lot somewhere. We spent the night in Lutsen, and then got to the Tofte station by 8 for orientation and permits.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Caribou trail took us first to Eagle Mountain, the highest peak in Minnesota. We were able to make it into camp just before the rain hit, thankfully.
