Our first week!

We have been here for almost a whole week, and it has been exciting to spend time with our families, our churches, and our friends down here in Lima, Peru. We are getting settled in to our apartment and things are going well.
We have spent quite of bit of time planning out the next few months down here with Pastor Evelio. We will be traveling throughout Peru most of October and halfway through November, helping with the missionary conferences. These conferences are made up of the Peruvian missionaries from different areas of Peru meeting together for classes, encouragement, and planning for the future. We will be giving devotionals, helping with the children and the teens, and in any other areas of need.
This coming week we will be traveling to Ica, Peru, which is several hours south of Lima. A church there was badly damaged during the earthquake a month ago, and we will be helping with the cleanup and construction. Seth will be doing manual labor and Crystal will be helping feed the workers. There will be four ARRIBA guys, Cody (Crystal’s brother) several Peruvian pastors and church members going as well. Please pray for witnessing opportunities during this time as we will be handing out tracts as well and participating in church services.
The Peru Side: Here is a generalization of the religious status in Peru:
